Our chapter's Team Get Fit was founded in the fall of 2012 with the idea of providing our members a way to get back in shape after the holidays and in preparation for the summer time. The idea was to to collaborate with CPD police academy instructors to receive not just training tips but also healthy lifestyle advice, including better eating habits and stress management. This 90-day program included two group workouts per week with a weekly weigh-in and a 30-minute health education conversation. The Chapter uses this program as a catalyst to getting participants ready to support and participate in the Run to Remember, which lends assistance to families of Chicago Police Department members who were killed or catastrophically injured in the line of duty.
Team Get Fit also helps prepare candidates who participate in our Chicago Police Department Entry Exam Workshops for the POWER Test, which is part of the application process for the Chicago Police Department.
